Building future
A Life in Structural Engineering (From la Cruz de Mendoza to Dubai)
O BE A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER is to feel as if we ourselves were the structure we are analyzing and to be able to perceive that each element of the structure has the capacity to support the loads coming from its own weight, from the live loads of use or from external forces such as an earthquake or strong wind.
We are surrounded by structures. We live in structures. Without structures there is no civilization. Dams, bridges, apartments, houses, retaining walls, towers to distribute electricity, industries, factories, warehouses, tunnels for the subway, the channeling of rivers, windmills, oil platforms, the fuselages of airplanes and rockets are needed... And all this is structure!
